Michael is a freelance photojournalist, writer, and videographer. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in photojournalism, and currently splits his time between the South Side Slopes of Pittsburgh and Bushwick, Brooklyn. His photos are syndicated with Redux Pictures.
He specializes in a wide array of photo and video work, as well as written journalism, investigative reporting, and spot news coverage. His assignments have taken him to the forefront of the refugee crisis in Lesvos, Greece - Maximum Security Prisons in Pennsylvania - Dia de los Muertos in Patzcuaro, Mexico - and border camps in Tijuana.
He is also the founder of Wicked Pittsburgh: an art collective and creative community of 48 Pittsburgh creatives selling, displaying, and performing their craft all to benefit a local cause. Since its inception in 2017, Wicked has given back over $126,000 to local artists, and $12,000 to local charities.
